Wanette Kasandra James Spencer was born May 15, 1949 in Hurtsboro, AL to the late Ms. Sallie James and John Dill. She graduated from Russell County High School in 1967, going on to obtain an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Philip's business School, Columbus, Ga. She later obtained an Associate's Degree in Printing and Graphics Design from Columbus Technical Community College. Fulfilling one of her life's goals she also became certified in Child Development.

Mrs. Spencer accepted Jesus Christ her Savior at an early age. She was a devoted and faithful member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church where throughout her 35 years of attendance she served as President of the Deaconess, Youth Director, Church Clerk, a member of the Usher Board and Chairman of the Pastor's Anniversary Committee.

Wanette married Woodrow Spencer Jr. October 14, 1968 and to this union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her brother Junior James, father-in-law Woodrow Spencer Sr., sister-in-law Olivia Chambers and brother-in-law Ronnie Spencer.  She went from labor to reward on Friday, March 2, 2012. She is survived by her husband Woodrow Spencer Jr; two sons: Woodrow (Kelly) Spencer III, Kelvin (Sherra) Spencer; one daughter Tamala Spencer; a grandson (whom she helped raise) Joshua Spencer and other grandchildren: Kevin Flores, Tevin Sparks, Jaylin Spencer, Tamiyah Ransom, Shamera Spencer and Kira Stubbs; Three brothers: Augusta, Bruce and Leomie James. A cherished mother-in-law Beatrice Spencer, brother-in-law, seven sister in laws and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other family and friends.
